ISLAND FALLS – George Berry Sr., 58, died July 13, 2011, in Bangor. He was born Sept. 28, 1952, in Farmington, the son of Robert and Louise (Boothby) Berry.
He graduated from Island Falls High School in 1971 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during Vietnam. His latest passion was being a scrap metal dealer. George had a great love for family and would do anything for anybody.
He is survived by his companion, Eleanor Grant of Island Falls; three children, George Berry Jr. and Shawn Berry, both of Island Falls, and Elizabeth Berry of Bangor; several grandchildren; one brother, Steve and Donna Berry of Island Falls; three sisters, Roberta Brooks, Cora and Floyd Batchelder, and Carla and Lewis Conrad, all of Island Falls; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Norman; and one brother-in-law, Raymond Brooks.
Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Monday at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, with funeral services being held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Amanda Wagner officiating. Interment will be at Island Falls Cemetery.
