GREENVILLE – George E. Plourde Sr., 71, died July 17, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1939, in Stockholm, son of Joseph and Marie (Borgoin) Plourde.
George was employed by Scott Paper Co. for many years. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed winters in Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeannine (Boucher) Plourde of Greenville; two sons, George Plourde Jr. and his wife, Deirdre, of Massachusetts, and James Plourde and his wife, Kim, of Gorham; five grandchildren, Andrew, Emma, Owen, Eric and Sarah; four sisters, Pearl, Patsy, Linda and Doris; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, July 21, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Greenville, with Father Rob Reagan, celebrant. Burial will be at Greenville Cemetery.
