OLD TOWN – Pauline E. Clukey, 90, passed away peacefully July 17, 2011. She was born Dec. 1, 1920, in Bangor, daughter of William and Elizabeth (Pinkham) Hughes.

Pauline was an avid reader, and also enjoyed crocheting afghans and knitting. She retired from Joseph Leonard School in 1974, as the assistant cook. Her greatest pleasure was watching the Red Sox. Pauline was involved in many organizations, including Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella, Old Town. She was also past president of Old Town Senior Citizens, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary District No. 4, Bangor and American Legion Auxiliary Maine Post No. 75, Old Town.

Pauline is survived by four children, Patricia LaBree and husband, James, of Bradley, Jean Day and husband, Richard, of Old Town, Marianne Bourgault and husband, Robert, of Worcester, Mass., and Richard Clukey and wife, Karen, of Milford; seven grandchildren, Jodi Leonard and husband, Brian, of Hampden, Jeffrey LaBree and wife, Kristin, of Bradley, Randy Day and wife, Melissa, of Brewer, Corey Day and wife, Jennifer, of Milford, Elizabeth Bourgault of Worcester, Mass., Rachel Clukey of Milford, and Joshua Clukey of Milford; 10 great- grandchildren, Whitney Leonard, Jarid Leonard, Zachary LaBree, MacKenzie LaBree, Baylee LaBree, Kayla Day, Wyatt Day, Ryan Day, Kelsi Day and Kassi Day; a great-great-grandson, Tyler Leonard; three siblings, James Hughes, Michael Hughes and Barbara Harrinton; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her husband, John Edward Clukey; three siblings, William T. Hughes, Rosemary Whitmore and Lillian Hughes; and her aunt, Eva Greenleaf.

Family and friends are invited to call 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church of the Resurrection of the Lord Parish, 429 Main St., Old Town. Interment will be after at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Old Town. After the services, all are invited to a light luncheon at the parish hall.
