ELLSWORTH, Maine — A family from Texas and a Trenton man walked away with relatively minor injuries from a two-car collision Thursday morning that caused one of the vehicles to overturn in the middle of a busy intersection in Ellsworth.
The crash happened at around 8:30 a.m. when the driver of a Honda SUV, identified as Dawn Drake-Davis of Southlake, Texas, failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Route 3 and Myrick Street, according to police.
Drake-Davis’ vehicle collided with a Ford pickup driven by Theodore Hennigan of Trenton. The Honda then rolled over and slid to a stop on its roof, according to a report from the Ellsworth Police Department.
Hennigan, Drake-Davis and two children in her car were treated for minor injuries. Drake-Davis was also issued a ticket for running a red light, police said.
