NEWPORT and DIXMONT – Donald Leroy Engstrom, 64, died July 21, 2011, at his Dixmont residence. He was born July 29, 1946, in Bangor, son of Archie and Ruth (Getchell) Engstrom.

He was employed for many years at Guilford Industries, Newport, and later owned and operated Riverside Antiques and Collectibles, Main Street, Newport.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Engstrom of Dixmont; two daughters, Laurie Gray and friend, Dennis, of Belfast, and Donna and husband, Rich Vetrano, of Bangor; four stepsons, Robert and wife, Michelle French, and Chris French, all of Dixmont, Daniel and wife, Jody French, of Etna, and Michael and wife, Heather French, of Bucksport; a stepdaughter, Linda and husband, Chester Benson, of Bucksport; 19 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Peggy Sukeforth of Bucksport; a brother, Stanley Engstrom of Newport; two brothers-in-law, David and wife, Una Sukeforth, of Verona Island, and John and wife, Sharon Sukeforth, of Cabot, Ark.; three sisters-in-law, Sandra and husband, Dana Deans, of Rice, Minn., Diane “Dee Dee” and husband, Donald French, of Bangor, and Margaret Gerry of Bucksport;

many nieces and nephews.
