CARIBOU – Lomen “Coon” Boutote, 80, died July 23, 2011, in Caribou. He was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Stockholm, son of the late Zepheria and Phoebe (Desrosier) Boutote.

Mr. Boutote served with the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of Henry P. Pratt Post 15 American Legion and Lister Knowlton Post 9389 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was employed as a carpenter for several area contractors for many years and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He is survived by two sons, Armond Boutote of South Carolina and Mike Boutote of Presque Isle; two brothers, Adrian Bernaiche and his wife, Yvette, of Fort Fairfield, and Al Boutote and his wife, Theresa, of Connecticut; sister, Arlene Doody of Caribou; sister-in-law, Rita Bernaiche of Caribou; a special grandson, Shawn Beaupre and his companion, Jane, of Limestone; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Boutote was predeceased by his daughter, Debbie Boutote; brother, Robert Bernaiche; and sister, Ernestine Pelletier.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Family and friends are invited to a time of fellowship and refreshments 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Rose Acres Community Center, Caribou. Arrangements by Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou.
