OLD TOWN – Scott Stephen Kennedy, 52, died Monday, July 25, 2011, at his home. He was born Dec. 31, 1958, in Bangor, son of Harold J. and Prudence M. (Grant) Kennedy.
Scott grew up in Old Town and was a 1978 graduate of Old Town High School. He later moved to New Hampshire and stayed there for 10 years before moving back to Old Town. He worked for several years as a highway contractor for the U.S. Postal Service. In his spare time, Scott enjoyed old movies, and often had interesting conversations about history and politics with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Andrew Kennedy of Bedford, N.H.; two brothers, Kurt Kennedy and his wife, Anna, of Waterboro, and Todd Kennedy of Old Town; two uncles, Edmund Kennedy and his wife, Dorothy, and Glenn Kennedy and his wife, Peggy, all of Greenbush; two aunts Margret “Peggy” Grant of Old Town, and Janice Madore and her husband, Paul “Tony” of Greenbush; three nephews, Derrick, Dustin and Dalton Kennedy, all of Waterboro; and several cousins. Scott will be dearly missed by all, including his close friends in the Bangor/Brewer area. He was predeceased by his brother, Eric Gray-Kennedy; his grandparents, Harrison and Lovina Kennedy, and Anthony and Margaret Grant; as well as his aunt, Loretta Rumney; and his uncle, Richard Grant.
Visiting hours will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church, 429 Main St., Old Town. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Old Town. Afterward, family and friends are invited to a light luncheon at the parish hall.
