HODGDON – William P. Weber, 60, passed away July 29, 2011, at a local hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1951, in White Plains, N.Y., the son of Henry F. and Evelyn (Posner) Weber.

Bill, as he was known, graduated from Woodlands High School, Hartsdale, N.Y. and attended Ricker College, Houlton. He owned and operated Weber Heating after working several years for Thompson Oil Co., Houlton. Before that he directed quality control operations at Louisiana Pacific wafer board mill in New Limerick. Bill was an active member of Houlton Parks and Recreation Department, serving many years on the advisory board and was a frequent coach for numerous local boys hockey and soccer teams. Sports was an important part of his life, from climbing Mount Katahdin in all seasons, camping at Chesuncook Village, playing golf regularly at Houlton Community Country Club, fishing in all seasons, dog sledding, roller blading and rooting for the New York Yankees. He loved music and attended many concerts throughout the state. Bill was also a long time member of Houlton Lodge of Elks. He was perhaps best known for the love he had for his children and his grandson. He was so proud of them. He had an open heart for everyone.

Bill leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Julie Rush Weber of Hodgdon; his daughter, Jessica Weber of Portland; his son, Christopher and his wife, Megan Griffin Weber; and grandson, Eli William Weber, all of Bangor; his mother, Evelyn Weber of New London, N.H.; two brothers, Robert Weber and his wife, Judy, of Newton, Mass., and Edwin “Terry” Weber and his wife, Constancia Romilly, of New York City; many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call noon until the time of service 2 p.m. Tuesday at Millar Civic Center.
