FORT KENT – Jacqueline Doucette Nadeau, daughter of Alex and Blanche Doucette, passed away peacefully July 31, 2011, at her home.
She loved the town and people of Fort Kent, the Parish of St. Louis, and her special friends of the Associates of St. Francis. Nadeau Hall on the University of Maine at Fort Kent campus is named in honor of Jackie and Bernard, her husband, to whom she showed great devotion. She traveled the world and was well known for her fine cuisine. With her selfless character, every activity she engaged in was done with great care and love.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bernard; sister, Sister Bernadine; and brother, Robert Doucette of Bristol, Conn. Jackie is survived by her six children, Charles and his wife, Margaret, of Tampa, Fla., Roger and his wife, Janet, of Fort Kent, Roland of Houston, Daniel of Kittery, Louise of Dallas, and Robert and his wife, Joyce, of Scarborough; sister, Sister Lorraine; and two brothers, Francis and Lionel Doucette. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 8-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Graveside services will be afterward at the parish cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to St. John Vianney Renovation Fund, 26 E. Main St., Fort Kent, ME 04743.
