SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Janice Susan Curtis, 40, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, surrounded by her loving family in San Luis Obispo, Calif. She was born in Boston and spent most of her life in California.

Janice was a spirit of light and love – a ray of sunshine. She spent her life always giving to others. She loved to cook, be barefoot, make jewelry, walk on the beach, and spend time with her children, family and friends.

Janice is survived by her partner, Anthony Leal; son, Travis Brown; daughter, Angela Ruda; grandson, Zane Brown; mother, Linda Harris; dad, Jerry Harris; sister, Lisa Curran and husband, Jim; brother, David Curtis; nephew, Christopher Curtis; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Sopiel Meader; and her grandparents, Pauline and Clarence Thibodeau.

It was Janice’s wish to be laid to rest next to her father, Joseph Sopiel Meader, at Peter Dana Point Cemetery, Passamaquoddy Indian Reservation. Please join us for a celebration of her life and burial 1 p.m. Aug. 8 at Peter Dana Point Cemetery, Princeton.
