HENDERSONVILLE – Harlan “Boonie” Henderson, 83, died Aug. 3, 2011, at a local hospital. He was born May 15, 1928, in Linneus, son of Darcy W. and Lea F. (Adams) Henderson.
Boonie was a member of New Limerick Freewill Baptist Church. He was a selectman for the town of Linneus and served as road commissioner for many years. Boonie was the owner and operator of Henderson Construction and Good Shepherd Red Deer Farm. He enjoyed working in the woods and four-wheeling on Drews Mountain with his family.
Boonie is survived by three sons, James Henderson and Paul Henderson, both of Linneus, and Bruce Henderson of Houlton; three daughters, Janet Henderson of Presque Isle, Marilyn “Midge” Henderson and her companion, Bill Graham, and Marie Jacobs and her husband, Jake, all of Linneus; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald Henderson of Georgia; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Brent “Homer” Henderson; and his brother, Merle Henderson.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held noon Saturday at New Limerick Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating.
