HERMON, Maine — The LeVi Rounders Square Dance Club of Hermon and Greater Bangor held its annual meeting and club picnic on July 10 at the home of Per and Cindy Lee in Hermon. The dancers will perform at 3 p.m. Saturday on Stage 2 during the Summer Sizzler Hermon Fun Days.

Bob Brown of Newport presided over the meeting, attended by a majority of members. Officers elected were Donna Wood, vice president; and Cindy Fairfield, treasurer; both for two years.

Volunteers were accepted for three vacant positions: club photographer, Wes Burgess of Bradford; hospitality, Jan Kopang of Hampden; and class mentors, Helmut Koch and Mairead Stein of Eddington.

The coming season will include new beginner lessons, scheduled to start with a pie social on Monday, Sept. 12, at Penobscot Job Corps Academy, 1375 Union St.

The session will start with two free lessons, which club President Bob Brown compared to “a money back guarantee, except that you haven’t spent any money! Just ask that people give it a try. If people can hear and if they can move briskly, we can teach them the rest.”

The LeVi Rounders Square Dance Club has members in Bangor, Hermon, Eddington, Bradford, Greenbush, Howland, East Millinocket, Houlton and many towns in the Bangor area.
