AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Department of Education on Monday announced new free and reduced-price lunch guidelines for this school year.
A two-parent household with one child would have to earn less than $24,090 annually to qualify for free lunch this year. That is a $280 increase from last year’s requirement.
That same three-person family would have to earn less than $34,281 for reduced-price lunch this year, up from the $33,874 income limit last year.
The limits are based on federal poverty levels.
