PRESQUE ISLE – Charles R. Flint, 58, died unexpectedly Aug. 19, 2011, in Ashland. He was born June 20, 1953, in Ashland, son of Robert and Frances (Picard) Flint Sr.
He was a graduate of Ashland High School and worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator in the lumber industry. Charlie loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, riding around on woods roads with his constant companion, his dog, Rocky. He was a kind-hearted friend to many, was known for being a prankster, but always had a smile for everyone.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Labbe and husband, Billy, of Ashland; a stepson, Robert Duperry Jr. of Glenburn; the mother of his daughter and stepson, Wanda Hazlett of Presque Isle; two brothers, Wayne Flint of Portage Lake and Robert Flint Jr. of Nashville Plantation; two sisters, Helen Henderson of Milo and Sandra Rouse of Veazie; eight grandchildren, Kelsey, Ramsey, Kylie, Brandy, Brandon, Ashlee, Jase and Mckenna; an uncle, Gene Picard of Westfield; an aunt, Cleo Bernier of Ashland; several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside committal service 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Willard Cemetery, River Road, Oxbow, with the Rev. Donald Morton Jr. officiating. A gathering for family and friends will be held immediately after the service at Dalton Inn, Masardis Road, Ashland.
