J Street Maine supporters gathered for a rally at the Hannibal Hamlin statue in Bangor on Tuesday to promote President Obama’s vision for the creation of two states of Israel and Palestine. The group met with representatives of Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe and Rep. Mike Michaud to present postcards from more than 150 Maine residents and spoke with the representatives about the need for strong American leadership in bringing about negotiations before the United Nations vote on Palestinian statehood.
