The Old Farmer’s Almanac has announced the winners of its Garden-Fresh Recipe Contest. Launched with the release of “”The Garden-Fresh Cookbook”” earlier this year, the contest kept with the spirit of the book by asking readers to submit their favorite recipes using fresh fruit and vegetables.
The editors of “”The Garden-Fresh Cookbook”” sorted through hundreds of entries to choose Grand, First, and Second Prize winners along with three Honorable Mentions. Prizes for the top winners include Le Creuset® cookware, a food processor, and a gift card to Stonewall Kitchen. All winners receive a bundle of Almanac products and the pleasure of seeing their recipes featured in the upcoming “Garden-Fresh Recipes,” an evolution of “”The Garden-Fresh Cookbook”” scheduled for release in 2012.
“This was a very difficult contest to judge—the entries were creative, delicious, and easy to prepare, proving that the best recipes come out of home kitchens,” said Janice Stillman, editor of “”The Garden-Fresh Cookbook”.”
