CHARLESTON, Maine — In light of Hurricane Irene’s path and timing, Charleston Pentecostal Church has postponed the groundbreaking for its new Children’s Building to 10 a.m. Thursday.

The new 1,200-square-foot Children’s Building will help Charleston Pentecostal, located at 185 Main Road, better serve its children’s ministry, which serves youth ages 2 through 10 and has grown from an average weekly attendance of 100 children in 2007 to 175 children in 2010.

The expansion will seat more than 400 and also serve SoulFire, the church’s senior high youth group, with panoramic screens, theater-grade lighting and multimedia capabilities.
