MILFORD – Eric S. Dawes, 39, died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at his home after a longtime battle with Crohn’s disease. He was born Nov. 28, 1971, in Lewiston, to Lucy Poland and Michael Dunn. Lucy married Robert Dawes, in 1975 and they adopted Eric together as their son.

Eric was an avid sports fan and could quote individual teams and players’ statistics, but his loyalty was to his Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and Monday Night Smackdown. Eric played sports for and graduated from Livermore Falls High School, Class of 1990. He had a great love for animals and was always on a mission to rescue strays and injured animals. His greatest love was for his own black pug, McLovin.

He will be sadly missed by his mom and dad, Lucy and Bob Dawes of Milford; his sister, Jennifer Gomm and husband, Lance, of Old Town; a very special niece, Mykayla Dawes; grandmothers, Arlene Poland and Ruth Dunn; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Dunn; and grandparents, Charles Dunn, Henry Poland, and Peg and Wil Dawes.

Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1. Interment will be at Keens Mills Cemetery, corner of North Parish Road and Fish Street, Turner.
