LUBEC – Edward Lee Denbow, 69, died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at a Brewer health care facility. Edward was born June 22, 1942, in Lubec, to Darrell Denbow Sr. and Bertha (Moores) Lyons.
In life Edward was a hard worker working many jobs – he cut wood, dug clams, picked brush and raked blueberries, just to name a few. He enjoyed watching Westerns and listening to country music. Edward liked being around people, especially children; he could always make them laugh with his good natured, easygoing spirit. He liked to sing old songs and loved to be with his family.
In addition to his father, Edward was predeceased by two brothers, Myron and Ray; two sisters, Leona and Gloria; and his stepfather, Maxwell Lyons. Surviving are his mother, Bertha Lyons; 11 sisters, Kathy and her husband, Dickie, Bonnie and her companion, David, Brenda and her companion, Pete, Janet and her husband, Robert, Judy, Betty and her husband, Wayne, Daphne, Trudy, Lynn, Theresa and Lana; four brothers, Van and his wife, Theresa, Dale, Kevin, and Danny and his wife, Cynthia; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at Ridge Baptist Church, 272 County Road, Lubec, where a funeral service will be held 3 p.m. A graveside service will be after the service at Green Acres Cemetery, Lubec.
