OLD TOWN – Eva M. Knight, 87, died peacefully Sept. 1, 2011, at her residence after a long illness. She was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Old Town, a daughter of Louis and Mary (Beaulieu) St. Louis.
Eva loved spending summers at their camp at Pushaw Lake since 1958. She has resided on French Island her entire life. She loved family gatherings and following her grandchildren in all their sporting and school activities. She also enjoyed crocheting afghans.
She is survived by three sons, Jim Knight, Wayne Knight and his wife, Lynn, and John Knight and his wife, Tina, all of Old Town; three grandchildren, Amanda Tucker and her husband, Jeremy, April Knight and Andrew Knight; two great-grandchildren, Zach and Lexie; one brother, Evan St. Louis and his wife, Pat, of Carmel; one sister, Rose Greenleaf of Orono; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice “Red” Knight, in 1997; and a sister, Velma Oakes.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church, 429 Main St., Old Town. Burial will be afterward at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Old Town. All invited to a light luncheon at the parish hall immediately after the burial.
