GUILFORD, Maine — A local man who was impaled by a garage rafter last week remained in critical condition Tuesday at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, according to a hospital spokesman.
Josh Parker, 27, who was impaled in the chest Friday after he lost control of his pickup truck and the vehicle smashed through a garage on Route 150, was taken to Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft after the accident and then airlifted by LifeFlight to EMMC. He told a first responder that he fell asleep at the wheel, according to Piscataquis County Investigator Guy Dow.
Family and friends have scheduled a benefit supper at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at the former McKusick School in Parkman.
