PHOENIX and FORT KENT – Clara McEdward, 92, died Sept. 1, 2011, in Phoenix. She was born Nov. 29, 1918, in Fort Kent, the sixth child of a family of 11 children, the daughter of Phydime and Zoe (Michaud) Dubois.

Clara and Donald were world travelers and spent their summers at the cottage in Eagle Lake after their retirement. Her positive legacy will always be with all who knew and loved her. A part of her is woven in all of her families’ lives. We were blessed to have the best of moms. We will miss you mom and love you more.

She is survived by her second husband of 64 years of marriage, Donald McEdward; one son, Lloyd Theriault; two daughters, Linda (Theriault) and her husband, Raymond Plato, and Donna (McEdward) and her husband, Dennis Dean, all of Phoenix; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rene and his wife, Cecile Dubois, of Plainville, Conn., Gilbert and his wife, Nathalie Dubois, of Fort Kent and Clarence and his wife, Shirley, of Florida. In addition to her parents and her first husband, Leo Theriault, she was predeceased by one son, Donald Angus McEdward, in 1993; four brothers, Philias, Alphee, Arthur and Albert; and three sisters, Leona Charette, Emma Shaw and Delia Plourde.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of service at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
