PRENTISS and ORRINGTON – Ruth B. Severance, 88, wife of the late Jesse Severance, died Sept. 7, 2011, at a Bangor health care facility, and reunited her family circle in the sky. She was born Aug. 26, 1923, in Prentiss, the daughter of Bert and Josephine (Noyes) Hurd.
Ruth was a loving mother and housewife, and loved by all her family and friends. She was past president of the Bangor Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Ruth is survived by her four daughters, Sheila Doyle of Bradford, Betty and her husband, Kenny Arey, of Bucksport, Barbara and her husband, Ed Pomeroy, of Winterport and Jessica Cooke of Glenburn; her brother-in-law, Vinal Severance and his wife, Iona, of Orrington; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, many loved nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Marston Cemetery, Orrington, with Pastor Donald Booker, of Bradford Baptist Church, officiating.
