BENTON – Wilbur Allan “Al” Brown, 82, died Aug. 22, 2011, at home. Born in Brooks, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Eunice (Cilley) Brown.
Al was a graduate of Morse Memorial High School, Brooks, in 1947, and Maine Maritime Academy, in 1950. He served in the Merchant Marines and Navy and retired from the Naval Reserves as a captain in 1985.
He leaves his life partner of 18 years, Gail Bailey of Benton; five sisters, including Betty Littlefield of Brooks, Marsha Shibles of Knox and Marlene Wight of Old Town; four children and six grandchildren.
