EDDINGTON – Arthur E. Treadwell, 73, husband of the late Beverly (Ford) Treadwell, went to be with the Lord Sept. 10, 2011, at his home. He was born May 24, 1938, in Pittsfield, Mass., the son of James and Beulah (Salsbury) Treadwell.
Arthur served in the U.S. Navy Seabees where he spent time in Newfoundland and Cuba. He then was employed by Sears Roebuck and Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1999. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, golfing and especially spending time at his camp on Horseshoe Pond. Arthur provided more than 40 years of dedicated service to the Lord at East Eddington Community Church and was a member of Lygonia Lodge No. 40, AF & AM, Ellsworth, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Bangor, Maine Consistory 32 degree, and Anah Shriners, Bangor, where he was a member of the Anah Patrol.
He is survived by five sons, Jason E. and Vicky Treadwell of Florida, James A. Treadwell of Eddington, Leonard “Sam” Ford IV and Jackie of Holden, Neil “Spike” Ford and Judy of New York and Steven Ford and Cathy of Bangor; two brothers, Dale Treadwell and Mattie of Otis and Gordon Treadwell and Lorraine of Eddington; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his special friends, David Johnson, Sylvia Decker and Roger Tracy. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, Joel P. Ford.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at East Eddington Community Church with the Rev. Roger Tracy, pastor, officiating.
