CBS affiliate WABI-TV of Bangor chose to not show the start of the U.S. Open men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal that began Monday at 4 p.m. and did not air the final until after its local newscast ended at 6:30 p.m.
It picked up coverage of the Open final after two sets. Djokovic went on to win the title in four sets.
WABI posted on its website the following statement: “We regret to inform U.S. Open tennis fans that WABI will not air today’s delayed men’s final match as scheduled by CBS. Regular programming, including local news at 5 and 6 will be shown.”
