LOWELL – Lenora P. “Nonie” Priest, 82, wife of Charles Priest, passed away Sept. 18, 2011. She was born July 20, 1929, in Burlington, daughter of Clyde and Madeline (Ewing) Shorey.
Nonie was an artist who painted many pictures during her lifetime. She was in the cake making business for a while, and even made a birthday cake for Eunice Shriver at one time – whose family marveled when they cut into it and found it to be “homemade.” She spent many happy days at Escutarsis Lake. Her family was most important to her.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she is survived by five sons, Everard of Manchester, N.H., Kerry and his wife, Lynn, of Hampden, Charles Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Lowell, Kendall of Brunswick, and Christopher of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Thomas of Howland, Lora Harding of Lowell and Sandra Colby of Gardiner; two brothers, Orland Shorey and his wife, Suzanne, and Clyde Shorey Jr. and his wife, Glenda, all of Burlington; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Molly Priest; and sister, Barbara Smith.
Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Fennell officiating.
