WINDSOR, Maine — Speed and inexperience were to blame Wednesday morning for a motorcycle accident that left an Augusta man dead, police said.
Joshua Lash, 38, died at the scene on Route 17, Kennebec County Sheriff’s Capt. Daniel Davies told the Morning Sentinel.
Lash, a native of Friendship, leaves behind a girlfriend and infant twins.
Deputies were sent to 366 Augusta-Rockland Road around 3:30 a.m. Lash was found dead at the scene.
Lash reportedly was headed eastbound on Route 17 when he failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the road, where he struck the driver’s-side front end of a 2001 Nissan Altima parked in a driveway.
Police believe driver inexperience, fog and driving too fast for conditions contributed to the crash.
