DEERFIELD, Mass. — Massachusetts state police say a small plane traveling to Maine has crashed in a field in Deerfield, injuring two people.
The injuries were not life-threatening, according to authorities.
Police said the victims were taken by ambulance to Bay State Medical Center in Springfield for treatment.
Authorities did not identify the two people. The plane was traveling from Westfield to Bar Harbor, Maine.
The single-engine Cessna crashed in a wooded area near Routes 5 and 10 shortly after 4:15 p.m. Friday.
Police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
