HAMDEN, Conn. — Kelly Newton tipped in a rebound off her own shot just 46 seconds into overtime to give the 14th-ranked Black Bears a 3-2 victory over Quinnipiac and extend its win streak to 10 in field hockey action Sunday..
Maine outshot Quinnipiac 12-3 in a scoreless first half, but Bobcats got on the board first when Kaitlyn Notarianni scored 8:34 into the second half.
Gardiner answered for Maine at the 53:25 mark and Alexa Binnendijk scored four minutes later to give the Bears a 2-1 lead before Ashley Gradwell tied it for the Bobcats with 1:33 left in regulation.
Alicia Frisch made two saves for the 10-1 Bears and Nicole Lewis made 21 saves for 6-3 Quinnipiac.
On Saturday, the Black Bears outshot Lehigh 28-3 en route ton 11-0 victory in a neutral-site game.
Alexa Binnendijk and Holly Stewart each recorded three goals for the Bears. Newton, Courtney Glynn and Jocelyn MItchell each added a goal while Newton also had an assist, her 16th of the season. She is now Maine’s all-time leader in career assists (40) and assists in a season, passing Annie Elkanich (39) and Morgan Brady (15).
UMF 6, Lassell 0
At Farmington, Sunday, Lily Barry and Kaitlyn Bullen each scored three goals to lead UMaine-Farmington to victory.
Curran Brierley and Felisha Taylor earned the shutout for UMF, which outshot Lassell 42-3.
Tufts 2, Cobly 1
At Waterville, Saturday, Lia Sagerman and Lindsay Griffin scored second-half goals to rally Tufts from a 1-0 deficit en route to the win.
Hannah O’Brien scored a first-half goal from a Caitlyn Lancaster assist for 0-4 Colby and Michelle Burt made 11 saves. Marianna Zuk made four saves for 4-1 Tufts.
Keene State 1, USM 0
At Gorham, Saturday, Alyce Ferenc redirected a pass from Jacki Benson in the 52nd minue to give Keene State the victory.
Caitlin Davino-Draper made five saves for 6-2 Keene State and Kayla Kennedy made seven saves for 5-5 University of Southern Maine.
UMF 1, Simmons 0
At Farmington, Saturday, Kashley Weymouth scored a 22:29 on an assist from Jessica Martin to give UMaine-Farmington the victory.
Curran Brierley made two saves for UMF and Renna Smith made 14 for Simmons.
St. Joseph’s 5, NEC 2
At Standish, Saturday, T.J. cowin scored three goals to lead St. Joseph’s past New England College.
Brittany Locke and Peyton Dostie each added a goal for 4-2 St. Joe’s while Dostie also notched two assists. Meaghan Johnson made six saves.
For 2-6 NEC, Emily Kuchta scored twice and Mary Roux made nine saves.

Maine 8, Sacred Heart 1
At Orono, the University of Maine completed its season-opening weekend sweep of Sacred Heart University with an 8-1 win Saturday.
Myriam Croussette, Dawn Sullivan and Jennifer More scored two goals apiece for the 2-0 Black Bears. Danielle Ward and Dominique Goutsis each added a goal and an assist. Maine out-shot the Pioneers 72-10. Kylie Smith and Brittany Ott combined for nine saves.
Alexis Molotky made 64 saves for 0-2 Sacred Heart.

Thomas 2, Johnson 0
At Johnson, Vt., Michael Hand scored two goals, the second with 48 seconds left in the game, to give the Terriers of Waterville the victory on Saturday.
Hand headed in the first goal off a Mattias Schyberg corner kick.
Mikkail Crockwell made five saves for 4-1 Thomas and Sam Martin and Ryan Belen combined for nine saves for 3-3 Johnson State.
Husson 2, MMA 0
At Castine, Sunday, Philip Frost scored a first-half goal and Tyler Metevier added one in the second half to help Husson improve to 4-4-1.
Andrew Austin assisted on both goals and Brian Potter made five saves.
For 4-2-1 MMA, William Lacour made four saves.

At Farmington, Sunday, Jon Stronach scored two goals and Nick Aubin added two assists to lead Colby by UMaine-Farmington.
Nate Tolman added a goal for 3-2 Colby.
Derek Reilly made seven saves for 3-4 UMF.
Tufts 2, Colby 1
At Waterville, Matt Blumenthal converted on a penalty kick midway through the first half and Maxime Hoppenot scored as the half ended to give Tufts the victory.
Jonathan Sommer scored at the 89:17 mark for Colby. Ben Joslin made four saves for Colby and Alan Bernstein made five for Tufts.
Lyndon 4, UMF 3
At Lyndon Center, Vt., Saturday, Jordan Hale’s goal with 7:51 left in the game gave the UMaine-Farmington Beavers the victory.
Luiz Ristow and Jake Constantine gave UMF a 2-0 lead in the first half before Lyndon State surged to a 3-2 advantage in the second. Mike Kelly then tied it for UMF on a Constantine pass.
Derek Reilly made four saves for 3-3 UMF and Jason Gray made eight saves for 3-5 Lyndon State.
EMCC 2, NMCC 1
At Presque Isle, Arron Vienneau and Jieyung Choi each scored a goal and Wook Heo assisted on both scores for Eastern Maine Community College. Erik Peterson made eight saves on 17 shots for the 3-3 Golden Eagles.
Matt Till scored with an assist from Sabastian Viola for the 0-6 Northern Maine CC Falcons. Chad McCarthy made nine saves on 20 shots.

At Keene, N.H., Jessica Berthiaume scored two of Keene State’s six first-half goals for the victory on Saturday.
Kara Pavlidis, Brittany Croteau, Melissa Dempsey and Joan Hamel each added a goal for the 6-3 winners and Megan Dempsey made two saves.
For 2-6 University of Southern Maine, Kate Rothe and Sara Bishop combined for 14 saves.

At Orono, Taylor Kucharski recorded a goal and assist to lead Binghamton by the Bears on Sunday.

At Castine, Amanda Gifford scored three goals to lead Husson by Maine Maritime Academy on Sunday.

At Lyndon Center, Vt., Emily Strese scored off a rebound of her initial shot at the 7:17 mark of sudden-death over time to give Lyndon State the victory over UMaine-Farmington on Saturday.
Tia Billado made eight saves on 15 shots for 5-3 Lyndon State while Beth Lebel made five on 12 for 3-2 UMF.
