CARIBOU – Helen Leila Widdecombe, 77, died Sept. 26, 2011. She was born May 4, 1934, in New Sweden, the daughter of Harold and Oleda (Green) Landeen.

Helen worked as a home health aide for more than 40 years and also volunteered many hours at Caribou Pet Rescue.

She is survived by two sons, Michael H. Chase and his wife, Ernestina, of Bloomfield, Conn., and Bradley Chase of Manchester, Conn.; one brother, Kendall D. Landeen and his wife, Darlene, of Caribou; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Howard Chase; one brother, Harold Landeen; and one sister, Geraldine McEwen of Caribou.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Jewell officiating. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery.
