FRANKFORT – Rosie Ella (Brassbridge) Rowell, 83, passed away peacefully Sept. 26, 2011, at a Rockland health care facility. Rosie was born May 28, 1928, in Frankfort, daughter of Clifford W. and Esther M. (Knowlton) Brassbridge.

Rosie was a lifelong resident of Frankfort. She worked for several years in local hatcheries before working in several shoe shops from which she retired. Rosie was a lifelong caretaker, she cared for her mother, sister, and later on her husband. She had a fondness for small children and can be remembered babysitting for many family members. Rosie was a faithful and active member of Frankfort Congregational Church. Rosie will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Rosie is survived by her sister, Edith Seekins of Belfast; her nephew, Lawrence Brassbridge and his wife, Charlene, of Frankfort, whom Rosie lived with for 10 wonderful years; several other nieces and nephews. Rosie was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Carleton, in 1987; four brothers, Lawrence, Sewall, Kenneth and Arthur; and a sister, Gertrude Brassbridge.

Family and friends are invited to visit 6-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Frankfort Congregational Church, Main Street, Frankfort, with Pastor Tim Hall officiating. Interment will be beside her husband at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery, Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rosie’s honor may be made to Frankfort Congregational Church, P.O.
