BANGOR – John Russell Croxford, 65, died Sept. 28, 2011, in Bangor, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born July 4, 1946, in Bangor, the son of Lyle and Glenyce (York) Croxford.
He was a graduate of Hampden Academy and attended the University of Maine, Orono. He had worked in restaurants all his adult life. He was a gourmet cook, an artist and a creator of beautiful flower gardens and floral arrangements.
He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Kenney of Dixmont and Janice Shaw and her husband, Robert, of Carmel; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and several cousins. John’s family is thankful for the help and support he received from his friends Wayne and Sonia Mallar for many years, especially during his illness.
At John’s request, there will be no funeral service. Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by Cremation Basics, Inc., Bangor.
