BANGOR – Pauline G. Colburn, 80, passed away Sept. 29, 2011, at a Bangor nursing facility. Pauline was born July 10, 1931, in Bangor, daughter of the late Paul and Eva Gilpatrick.

She married Paul S. Colburn of Bangor. They were married for 60 years. Pauline was a 40-year member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Bangor and Hampden. She served as president and treasurer.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Paul, are her daughter, Cindy and husband, Gary Cowling; two sons, Allen and his wife, Debbie, and Bruce and his wife, Terri, all of Bangor; five grandchildren, John, Betsy, Shelby, Shane and Ashley; four great-grandchildren, John, Jordan, David and Seamus; a special sister, Barbara and her husband, Joe King, of Veazie; and a special niece, Jane. Pauline will be remembered by many special, close friends.

A memorial service conducted by the Ladies Auxiliary of Whitcomb Baker Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4633, Hampden, will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A celebration of her life will be held immediately after with the Rev. Carl Schreiber, pastor of East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Norman Dow Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1761, outer Hammond Street, Bangor, after the service. Committal services will be held noon Thursday, Oct. 6, at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie.
