GREENPORT, N.Y. – Robert Solinger, 58, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, in Greenport, N.Y. He died peacefully surrounded by family.
For 22 years he and his wife, Carol, owned and operated Rideout Gardens, Eddington. Bob was passionate about his plants, coaching championship chess teams at Holbrook Middle School and John Bapst Memorial High School, and riding his bike. Most of all he cared for his family and many friends.
He is survived by his best friend and wife of 36 years, Carol; daughters, Juliana and Corey; son, Raymond; mother, Barbara; sisters, Barbara Lee and Laura; and brother, Buddy. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Solinger, in 2008. Bob was deeply loved, and life will never be the same without him.
