ROCKLAND, Maine — A local resident was arrested Thursday after he fired a gun at his ceiling.
A resident called police at noon to say they knew a man on Halls Lane who was high on bath salts and shooting a gun inside his home. Rockland Police shut down the residential street and shooed passers-by off the road. Police then demanded that Kenneth Corlis, 44, of Rockland, to come out of his house.
Corlis did as told and was arrested for reckless conduct with a firearm, according to Deputy Chief of Police Wally Tower. Other charges may be pending, the deputy chief said.
The man had fired a single shot into his ceiling and no one was injured, according to Tower.
“He was mad. He was upset and using bath salts, so he fired a weapon in his own house,” Tower said shortly after the incident. “It was aimed at the ceiling.”
Corlis was at Knox County Jail awaiting $500 cash bail as of Thursday afternoon.
