BREWER – Leland A. McDonald, U.S. Air Force, retired, 83, of Everett, Mass., and Brewer, went home to be with the Lord Oct. 7, 2011.
He was son of the late Annie and Archie McDonald; beloved husband of Irene C. McDonald; loving father of David McDonald and his wife, Karin, of Brewer, Robert A. Patria, Esq. of Everett, Mass., and Alfred McDonald and his wife, Marilyn, of Phenix City, Ala.; and devoted grandfather of Rebecca McDonald of Brewer, Emma Dorothy Patria and Ian Patria of North Andover, Mass., and Christopher Patria of Belmont, Mass.
He was born Sept. 23, 1928, in Jackson, Ala., and attended Jackson High School. He was very active in First Baptist Church, Everett, Mass., serving as treasurer for many years. He joined the U.S. Air Force and served during World War II and the Korean War before retiring after 20 years of service, and was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He later worked for Manton-Gaulin, Everett, Mass., as a shipper for 21 years.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at JF Ward Funeral Home, 772 Broadway, Everett, Mass. Visiting hours will be held 4-6 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 50 Church St., Everett, MA 02149.
