DETROIT and THOMASTON – Colette Rae Farley Henderson died unexpectedly Oct. 9, 2011, at her residence in Detroit after a long battle with illness. Colette was born March 25, 1968, in West Chester, Pa., daughter of Francis and Judith Farley.
Shortly after her birth the family moved to Westfield and later to Thomaston, where she attended elementary and high schools. During the last several years, Colette was a homemaker, who enjoyed reading, computer contact with friends, and also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her fiance, Chris Rowell, and their pets.
Colette is survived by her parents of Thomaston; her fiance‚ of Detroit; as well as her sons, David Harjula of Warren and Eric Harjula of Thomaston; and her sister, Caryn and husband, Dennis Cough, of Greenbush. She also leaves three granddaughters, Alexis Peters and Bailey Harjula of Warren and Jadyne Munroe of Rockland; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A private committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Humane Society of Knox County, Good Shepherd Food Bank or a charity of your choice.
