CORINNA and EAST MACHIAS – Eugene Edward Ames, 70, died Oct. 16, 2011, at his Corinna residence. He was born May 3, 1941, in East Machias, a son of Frank and Roberta (Lund) Ames.
He was a retired police officer for the town of East Machias and also a retired truck driver for Guptill’s Logging.
He is survived by a son, Dr. Rickie Ames and his wife, Alisha, of Corinth; a daughter, Lisa Grant of Ellsworth; two brothers, Darold Ames and wife, Yvonne, of East Machias and Burleigh Ames and wife, Janice, of Cherryfield; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside committal services will be held noon Sunday, Oct. 23, at Jacksonville Cemetery, East Machias. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Corinna. Those who wish may sign an online guest register at
