MADAWASKA – Louis R. Dubois, 85, passed away unexpectedly Oct. 18, 2011, at his residence. He was born Dec. 5, 1925, in Fort Kent, son of the late Paul and Marie (Clavette) Dubois.
Louis worked as an inspector for Pratt and Whitney for many years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of American Legion, Post 147 of Madawaska as well as a member of third degree Knights of Columbus, Council No. 2638 of Madawaska. He was always found outside of his beautiful home, maintaining his perfect lawn and yard. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Adrienne (Bernier) Dubois of Madawaska; three daughters, Louise Pederson and her husband, Dwayne, of Hubbardston, Mass., Denise Kovachevich of St. Louis and Nicole Dubois and her husband, John Modica, of Guilford, Conn.; two sons, James Dubois and his wife, Mary, of Oklahoma City and Marcel Dubois and his wife, Elise Adde, of Arlington, Va.; nine grandchildren, Jimmy, Christopher, Bryon, Jacques, Paul, Alec, Stephanie, Morgan and Courtney; and eight siblings, Bernice Vaillancourt of Van Buren, Blanche Roix, Albe Dubois and his wife, Rachel, and Rita Picard and her husband, Bert, all of Madawaska, Gerald Dubois and his wife, Rose, of Kentucky, Eunice Sevy and her husband, Ronald, of St. Agatha, Robert Dubois and his wife, Odette, of Cross Lake and Jeanne Martin and her husband, Camille, of Connecticut.
He was predeceased by one sister, Aurella Paradis.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call noon until the time of service Friday.
