ELLSWORTH – Davalee Robin Thibodeau lost a long battle with breast cancer Oct. 16, 2011.
She fought and survived breast cancer in 1999, but it returned throughout her body in 2011. She kept saying that she had beat it once and would do it again. Her determination to survive and watch her grandchildren grow up kept her alive longer than most people could have hoped for. Unfortunately her body was not as strong as her spirit. Davalee, who was called “Dee” by her friends and “Sissy” by her family, was dearly loved. She was extremely generous and kind, and more than a little strong willed. She enjoyed spending her summers in the camper she called home among the campground neighbors, who became like a second family to her. She also enjoyed the time she spent with her granddaughters, who were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her mother, Beverly Floyd; her sister, Renee Bradford; her brothers, Randy Dodge and Ryan Floyd; five nieces and two nephews; her son, Alan, who she was very proud of; her daughter-in-law, Kellee, who she loved like her own daughter; and her granddaughters, Alanna and Jaslyn, whom she adored more than life itself. We will all miss Dee and the impact she has made in our lives, but her family takes comfort in knowing that she was secure in her salvation, and even told her brother that she would say “Hi” to Jesus for him.
Graveside service will be held noon Oct. 22 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Swanville.
