BANGOR – Raymond L. Bryand Sr., 94, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor.

Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Ray served in the U.S. Army in his younger years and then started his life career in the sign business. Throughout his life he and his wife lived in several areas in Maine, as well as Rhode Island. He enjoyed his career in the neon business and loved teaching others the art of it. He had an amazing voice and passion for music. Ray sang in many barbershop bands throughout his life. He loved listening to his old records and singing along with them.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 71 years, Virginia. Ray is survived by his sons, Raymond Bryand Jr. and William Bryand; and special daughters-in-law, Joanne and Paula; daughter and special son-in-law, Patricia and Michael Trask; his sisters-in-law, Marie Harnois and Winifred Burns; nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Rusty Trask, Doug and Sara Trask, Christy and Jim Webb, Paul Trask, Ray Bryand III, Kim and Bob Bowen, Cindy and Geoff Vassey, Rhonda and Bob Robbins, Deborah Bryand, Cara and Susan Bryand; along with 21 great-grandchildren. He leaves us all behind with a song in our hearts. Special thanks go out to the loving and caring staff at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at St. Francis Cemetery, Waterville. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the residential care unit at Maine Veterans Home, Hogan Road, Bangor, ME 04401.
