BANGOR – Ingeborg “Inge” Winslow, 68, died Oct. 25, 2011, at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was born Jan. 20, 1943, in Aussig, Czech Republic, daughter of Josef and Berta (Reichenauer) Tippmann.

Inge grew up in Germany and came to Maine in 1968. For 27 years she worked for the University of Maine system at the Orono campus. She was a unique lady with many interests, including a love of travel, reading and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roland and Nicole Winslow of West Chester, Ohio; her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Mark Burke of Landenberg, Pa.; five beloved grandchildren, Hayley, Andrew and Kaitlyn Winslow, Hannah and Elliot Burke; and brother, Heinz Tippmann of Switzerland. She leaves behind a number of very special friends who truly were her extended family.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Rex. H. Garrett, director of chaplaincy services, Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the service Friday at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
