A total of five public hearings will be held, representing five areas of the state. Comments from the public are urged at these hearings on any of the 226 proposed changes to open-water and ice fishing regulations in Maine.

Any accepted changes would be enacted for the 2012-2013 fishing seasons.

The following is a complete listing of the public hearings, including dates and locations:

  • Tuesday: Presque Isle Inn & Convention Center, 116 Main St.
  • Wednesday: Stearns High School, Library, 199 State St., Millinocket
  • Nov. 7: Ramada Ellsworth, 215 High Street, Route 1 & 3
  • Nov. 8: Brunswick High School, Multi-Purpose Room, 116 Maquoit Rd.

The deadline for receiving written comments is Nov. 21, 2011.
