NEW CANADA and FORT KENT – Roland “Nou” Caron, 67, died peacefully Oct. 30, 2011, at his residence. He was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Fort Kent, the son of Minal and Odile (Pelletier) Caron.
Nou’s favorite pastimes were gardening and spending time with his family. His love for his family was beyond reproach. An example of his commitment to family was planning the Pelletier-Caron reunions in Michigan Settlement.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy (Dubois) Caron of New Canada; three children, Ralph and his wife, Pam Caron, of Fort Kent, Ron Caron of Ellington, Conn., and Nikki and her husband, Chip Kennedy, of Cohasett, Mass.; four grandchildren, Kaci, Kiera, Maggie and Randall; 11 brothers and sisters, Sylvia Deprey, Lucienne Daigle, Geneva and her husband, Roland Daigle, Doris and her husband, Elmer Daigle, Theresa and her husband, Norm Guerrette, Raoul and his wife, Lou Caron, Carrol and his wife, Joanne Caron, Roger and his wife, Gloria Caron, Gil and his wife, Collette Caron, Jim and his wife, Angel Caron, and Mike and his wife, Jackie Caron. He is also survived by many special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one infant son, Randy, in 1970; and one infant sister, Gilmay Caron.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be afterward at Holy Family Cemetery, Daigle. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, in honoring Nou’s commitment to family, please plan a special event with your family.
