Louie Luchini, an 11-time All-American at Stanford and former professional runner for Nike in Oregon, has had run in exotic places across America and around the world.

Luchini, an Ellsworth High graduate, still lists Eagle Lake and the connected carriage trails in Acadia National Park as his favorite spot to run.

From mountain views to lakeside loops, Acadia offers a lot of variety for hikers, bikers … and runners like Luchini.

In this week’s installment of ‘A Running Start’ Luchini explains what makes Acadia such a special place, and why he spends so much time training there.
