THOMASTON, Conn. – Susan (Stanley) Roberts, 101, widow of Herbert Roberts, passed away Nov. 7, 2011, at Cook Willow Health Convalescent Home, Plymouth, Conn. Susan was born Jan. 28, 1910, in Medford, daughter of the late Isaac and Viola (Spencer) Stanley.
Susan had been a resident of Thomaston, Conn., for the past 30 years. She was a member of Thomaston Congregational Church and also a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Hillsboro, N.H.
She is survived by her son, Marvin Roberts and his wife, Virginia, of Thomaston, Conn.; her daughters, Ann Petrin of Terryville, Conn., and Mary Jane Ramsdell of Vernon, Conn.; her sister-in-law, Rhoda Stanley of LaGrange; her seven grandchildren, Susan McWhinnie, Glenn Roberts, Julie Ann Petrin-Hamel, Sandra Lee Petrin, Jonathan Ramsdell, Meghan Piedmont and Jared Ramsdell; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, Willis and Carlton Stanley.
Relatives and friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday at Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville, Conn., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. Burial will be at Upland Cemetery, Terryville, Conn.
