LYMAN, Maine — A York County man is behind bars after police say he threatened another man with a baseball bat on Sunday.

Darren Gerard, 18, of Lyman allegedly threatened another man with the weapon and was arrested and charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, York County Sheriff’s Department Maj. William King said in an email Wednesday.

The altercation stemmed over a disagreement, King said, and Gerard attempted to strike the victim with the bat, missed and hit his vehicle. He subsequently fled the scene, but police eventually tracked him down and arrested him.

Gerard’s first court appearance is Dec. 13. (Ryan McLaughlin, BDN)
