ALTON and OLD TOWN – Donald Leavitt, 85, husband of Ruth (Nadeau) Leavitt, passed away Nov. 8, 2011, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was the son of LeRoy and Evelyn Leavitt of Alton.
He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, two brothers, one niece, one nephew; and one stepdaughter, Brenda. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law.
He worked at the Pie Plate factory in Old Town, left there to work for Sewall Co., Old Town, for many years, and then drove the tour bus for Cyr Bus Line. He enjoyed playing golf – it was his greatest passion. In his later years he worked at Bangor Golf Club, taking care of the fairways and the greens, which he enjoyed.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at Alton Cemetery.
