CARMEL – Jennie E. Sylvester, 84, died Nov. 15, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 6, 1927, in Hermon, a daughter of Norman and Bertha (Pomeroy) Overlock.

She was a member of Carmel Full Gospel Church, Etna-Carmel Post No. 107 American Legion Auxiliary and Carmel Senior Citizens.

Jennie is survived by her husband of 53 years, the Rev. Harrison Sylvester of Carmel; son, Wyatt and wife, Terry Sylvester, of Exeter; daughter, Marie Daigle and companion, Scott Camp, of Las Vegas; two brothers and their wives, Beverly and Patricia Overlock, and Charles and Kathy Overlock, all of Hermon; four sisters, Geraldine Ognan of Homestead, Fla., Celia and husband, Elwood Beckwith, Jeanette and husband, Robert Farrar, all of Hermon, and Gloria and husband, Charles Spencer, of Sanford; six grandchildren, eight great-grandsons, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Perley and Leo Overlock; and a sister, Eleanor Toth.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Carmel Full Gospel Church, Main Street, Carmel, where services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. David Bean officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Carmel.
